As part of efforts to enrich pilgrims’ knowledge during the holy pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has begun leading visits, otherwise known as Ziyarah, to some historical places in Madinah.

Addressing the pilgrims at Mountain of Hud(Jabbal Uhud) one of the sites, the Leader of the team Dr Abdulkadir Saleh Kazaure, said the visit was an important obligatory exercise which every pilgrim must perform.

He further explained that the visit would also increase pilgrims faith and enable them believe in what they read in the Holy Qur’an, as well as revive the stories and history of the lifetime of Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sahaba as clearly stated in Suratul Imran, Chapter 3 vs 97.

Dr Abdulkadir Saleh Kazaure highlighted the efforts of Holy Prophet Muhammad at ensuring that Islam which is a religion of peace, achieves its aims and objectives.

He urged the pilgrims to promote the religion in a positive light and emulate the virtues of the Messenger of Allah, while also admonishing them to heed the rules and regulations of the officials to avoid going astray.

Dr Sale Kazaure enjoined them to use the opportunity in the Holy land to pray fervently for their local government areas, state and Nigeria in general.

Some of the pilgrims who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended the Jigawa state officials for conducting them round the places, promising to continue to comply with the directive of the officials while in Saudi Arabia.
