The Senate and House of representative will have a joint sitting this wednesday to mark the 25th years of uninterrupted democracy and Legislature in Nigerian system.

The joint sitting is first of its kind since the inception of the fourth republic in 1999.

This is contained in a statement by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Sani Magaji Tambuwal, to newsmen in Abuja.

The statement indicates that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will address the joint sitting on the state of the nation and also flag off the National Assembly Library complex.

In the history of the National Assembly, joint sittings occur every year when the president presents a budget estimate for the nation. Therefore, Wednesday’s joint sitting will be a historic one.

The event will be attended by distinguished guests, including the Vice President, Deputy President of the Senate, Deputy Speaker of the House, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief of Staff to the President, and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF)

Others are Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Clerk of the National Assembly, and other notable dignitaries.

However, Senators and Honourable Members are expected to be seated by 9 a.m.
