Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has commissioned 24 classrooms in the second-largest primary school in the state, with an enrollment of over seven thousand pupils, at Rafin Guza Basic Education Primary School in Kaduna North Local Government Area.
Thr Governor while commissioning the classrooms said the effort was a testament to his administration’s unwavering commitment to overhauling school infrastructure across Kaduna State.
Represented by his Deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe noted that the administration had placed a high priority on revamping dilapidated classrooms and up-skilling of teachers to foster better human capital outcomes for the state.
Malam Sani further revealed that the Kaduna State government was doing everything within its means to ensure that every child is enrolled in school, remains in school, and receives a quality education.
“Our efforts are evident in the construction of 2,326 new classrooms so far, which comfortably accommodate 93,040 pupils”
“We have provided 30,742 two-seater desks, seating a total of 61,484 pupils to ensure that our students learn in comfort and dignity. These schools are also equipped with hygienic toilets and hand pumps for potable drinking water, underscoring our commitment to a holistic and healthy learning environment”
In a remark, the Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Tijjani Abdullahi pointed out that, the commissioning of 2 blocks of 12 classrooms each at Basic Education School Rafin Guza was a significant strides made by Governor Uba Sani in advancing the Basic Education in Kaduna State.
Mr Abdullahi represented by the Permanent Member Project Management, Mubarak Mohammed explained that the construction of the new facilities was a testament to their collective commitment to uplifting the standard of education.
He Said the classrooms infrastructures would not only enhance the learning environment for children but also serve as a foundation for their future successes.
Mr. Tijjani Abdullahi hinted that Basic Education School is one of the biggest schools in the state in terms of population, with an enrollment of 7,160 and 52 classrooms.
He said this was among the reasons why the Governor deemed it fit to construct an additional 24 classrooms so that the quality of teaching and learning can be improved.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by some senior government officials.
