House of Representatives has directed the Inspector General of Police and other relevant security agencies to identify the killers of the Marke village head, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad, in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, who was slaughtered and set ablaze by an unknown group.

This followed a motion of urgent public importance by Alhaji Umar Shehu Ajilo, a member representing Makarfi-Kudan, which was adopted by the House.

Alhaji Umar Shehu Ajilo, who was worried about the devastating security situation from Tashar Yari and Kunkumi to the Makarfi axis, said that if left unchecked, it might escalate to neighboring communities in Katsina and some parts of Kano State.

The lawmaker explained that as a result of the attacks, many people were injured, and houses and property worth millions of naira have been destroyed, making life unbearable for those who survived the attacks in different areas.

He appealed to the people in the area to remain calm and avoid any violent acts, as efforts were underway to ensure that the government would come to their aid within an appropriate period.

Alhaji Umar Ajilo, however thanked the house under Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, for giving the motion a listening ear and called for the committees concern to do everything possible to fully ensure compliance of the house resolutions.

After a deliberation, the motion has been referred to the house committee on police and Army for further proper investigation and consideration by the house.
