Sen Ogoshi Urges NEMA, Agencies to Aid Rainstorm Victims in Nasarawa South

Senator representing Nasarawa South in the National Assembly Sen. Muhammad Ogoshi Onawo, has appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency and other relevant agencies to support victims of the recent rainstorm in his area to alleviate their suffering.

He made the plea while addressing newsmen in Abuja, on the level of damages caused on his constituents by the incidence.

Sen. Muhammad Ogoshi, explained that the incidence which caused serious damages on houses, markets and worship centres in three Local Governments also left hundreds of people stranded.

Sen Ogoshi, stressed that the rainstorm according to an estimate had destroyed more than one hundred houses and inflicted injuries of various degrees to many people who were currently receiving treatment in hospitals.

He said as representatives of the people he has already sponsored a motion on the floor of the house seeking the intervention of the Parliament on how to support the victims with the necessary tools to fix the affected structures.

The Senator who sympathized with victims assured them of the National Assembly’s commitment to liaise with the executive arm to come to their aid in the interest of humanity.

Radio Nigeria reports that the rainstorm which affected hundreds of people occured in three local governments under the Senator district of the legislators.
