KNSG Debunks Alleged Case Of Child Molestation

Written by Godwin Duru

Kano state government has debunked social media posting of claims of sexual molestation of a minor in one of the public primary school in the state.

The state commissioner of Education Umar Haruna Doguwa made the clarification in Kano.

Recall that a Kano based activist Mansurah Isah had posted a video on social media calling attention on how a primary school girl was sexually molested.

According to him, issues of concern should be channelled to the appropriate authorities than taken to social media.

Doguwa however called on the public to direct any subject of concern to government as they are freely available to listen.

He pointed that due diligence and factual display of fact should be adhered to.

“We don’t want people going on air speculating what actually didn’t take place in any of our schools”

The commissioner pointed out that, the ministry had reached out to Mansurah and she showed remorse and assured them that she is going to trash the video as a way of moving the state forward.

“This is because she didn’t do due diligence before releasing the video in the first place”

The commissioner however thanked the media, the Kano Hisbah command, Ministry of Health, and SUBEB for their timely intervention in resolving the situation and hoped that the situation won’t repeat itself.
