Acute fuel scarcity has been reported in parts of Zamfara State.
Radio Nigeria in Gusau observed that most filling stations in Gusau, Kaura Namoda, and Tsafe are under lock and key.
Reports indicate that for the past few days, residents of the state have faced shortages as most fuel stations have been without the commodity.
For the few stations that do have fuel, there is commotion due to long queues of vehicles.
It also observed that at stations with fuel, it is being sold at 780 to 800 naira per liter.

All efforts to interview affected fuel station managers regarding the price hike proved abortive as they remained silent.
Consequently, many vehicle owners have abandoned their vehicles and resorted to trekking to their destinations, leading to minimal traffic, especially in the state capital.
Most people who spoke expressed disappointment over the resurgence of long queues at filling stations and the price hike, which they described as uncalled for.
They appeal to the concerned authorities to take steps to address the situation before it escalates.
