The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Dr. Abdul Jimoh has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment towards ensuring that the institution turns out self-reliant graduates who are employers of labour.

Dr. Abdul stated this when he received the Tertiary Education Trust Fund( Tetfund) Advisory Committee Team on Skills Development who were on an assessment visit to the Polytechnic Skills Acquisition and Development Centre in Ilọrin.

According to him his administration had earlier initiated the move to embark on skills acquisition to foster innovations among the staff which led to collaboration between the Polytechnic and formal sectors.

Dr.Abdul commended the intervention of Tetfund and its initiative to ensure that institutions collaborate with informal sectors to expose and equip the students with necessary skills .

In a remark the team leader from Tetfund, Dr. Idris Musa expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness of Kwara State Polytechnic for the Skills acquisition programme.

He advised the Management to intensify efforts and ensure the programme kicks off as scheduled.END
