Taraba Govt To Commence Distribution Of Tractors

The Government of Taraba State has recently commenced the importation of the first batch of Cabrio Tractors, mini tractors, accessories, and spare parts to the state.

In a previous agreement with Knights A.S of the Czech Republic, Governor Agbu Kefas had secured the supply of 100 sets of Caprio compact tractors and 750 mini tractors to enhance agricultural practices and amplify agricultural output within the state.

Professor Nicholas Oliver Namessan, the state Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, has confirmed the arrival of the first batch, which comprises 20 Cabrio Compact Tractors and 250 Global Mini Tractors.

The second batch is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

In line with the government’s objectives to revitalize the agricultural sector, the machinery will be distributed to genuine farmers in the State immediately after its commissioning by the Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas.

Moreover, the first batch of training for the machinery’s operations and maintenance has already begun, with 60 youths undergoing various aspects of the tractors’ training in the past two months.

The training aims to equip them with the necessary skills to operate and maintain the machinery effectively and efficiently.

Additionally, the training program intends to expose them to international standards, thereby enhancing their expertise in the field.
