Participants of the training session for 255 Health Facility Managers and Chairmen of Ward Development Committees on the revised operational guidelines for Ward and Village Development Committees within the health system in Kaduna State have been encouraged to intensify efforts to achieve optimal service delivery.

The Project Manager of the IMPACT Project, Usman Garba presented this during a three-day cluster training conducted across the state’s three political zones.

Alhaji Usman Garba said the training was organized to equip Health Facilities Managers and Chairpersons of Ward Development Committees with the revised operational guidelines under the ward Health System in Kaduna State.

He confirmed that the cluster training was held simultaneously in nine different centers across the three political zones in state.

The IMPACT boss commended kaduna State Government for taking health care services to the door step of the residents.

In a remark, the State Health Educator of the Primary Health Care Board, Isa Yusha’u Kudan was optimistic that the training provided by IMPACCT would help to complement Government efforts in achieving effective healthcare
delivery across the state.

The State Health Educator was of the opinion that the exercise would bridge the gaps that existed in various health centers and communities they operate from.

One of the facilitators, Saminu Salisu Kaya, urged participants to pay attention to what would be taught throughout the session and to ensure that lessons learned were cascaded to the grassroots for the overall improvement of healthcare services across the state.

Some of the participants who spoke to Radio Nigeria, including Hannatu Ahamad, a facility manager in Soba Local Government, and Garba Danlami, Chairman of the Ward Development Committee in Chikaji of Sabon Gari Local Government, reaffirmed their determination to cascade what they have been taught.

The three-day workshop was attended by officials of the Kaduna Government, IMPACT’s top functionaries, Ward Development Committees, among many others.
