President Bola Tinubu has commended Dangote Oil and Gas Limited for taking a significant step in reducing the price of diesel.

The company announced a substantial reduction in diesel prices from 1,650 Naira to 1,000 Naira per litre, marking a 60 per cent drop. Furthermore, the company introduced a discount of 30 Naira per litre for purchases of five million litres and above.

This decision, aimed at making diesel more affordable, will positively impact the prices of various goods and services reliant on diesel for their operations. It will provide relief to Nigerians, particularly businesses grappling with high operational costs.

The President acknowledged the vital role of Nigerians and domestic businesses in the nation’s economic prosperity. He emphasized that partnerships between public and private entities are crucial for advancing the country’s well-being. The federal government’s 20 per cent stake in Dangote Refinery serves as an excellent example of such partnerships, essential for driving economic growth.
