Rep Member Flags-off Distribution Of Palliatives To Constituents In Niger State

A member of the House of Representatives representing Chanchaga Constituency from Niger state, Malam Audu Buba Cashier has flagged off the distribution of Federal Government palliatives to members of the three hundred and seventy nine polling units in his constituency.

The Federal Government has since October last year promised to provide and hand over the palliatives to Senators and members of House of Representatives for onward distribution to people in their constituencies to cushion the hardship cause by subsidy removal.

Flagging off the distribution of the first batch of one thousand seven hundred bags of twenty five Kilogram of rice in Minna, Alhaji Audu Buba Cashier warned that the palliatives are not meant for members of his political party, the PDP but every member of Chanchaga Local Government Area irrespective of party affiliation is entitled to it on equal basis.

He however said allocation has also been made to cater for the disabled persons, elderly and those at the Internally Displaced Persons Camp IDP’s in his constituency to enable them have a sense of belonging as responsible members of the society.

Alhaji Audu Buba Cashier further explained that as soon as the second batch of palliatives comes, it will also be distributed to all the people in his constituency towards providing succor and relief to them especially in this trying moment.

According to him, the committee set up for the distribution of this palliative comprising of members of various political parties have already itemized how it will be distributed to the eleven wards of Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger state.

In his remarks, former Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state, Alhaji Hassan Mohammed Saba expressed happiness that for the first time in the history of Chanchaga, disabled persons were captured in the distribution of palliatives which he described as a welcomed development.

As member of the committee, he said the palliatives will be distributed in a more transparent manner to achieve the set objective.

It could be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had in October last year promised to provide palliatives for members of the National Assembly to distribute to their constituents across the country towards providing succor and relief to them.
