Kano State Police Command has assured residents of the state of their safety during the Easter period celebration in the state.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Usaini Gumel, stated this during an interview with journalists in Kano.

He said enough manpower would be deployed across the forty four local government areas of the state.

” We have have mapped out strategies that will ensure the entire state is captured with our personnel”.

Mr Hussein Gumel noted that personnel and logistics for patrol and surveillance have been deployed to give residents a true sense safety during the period.

He said the command is working in conjunction with other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free celebrations.

“I want assure all residents that their safety is our priority and is guaranteed. By working together with the members of the public we are calling for all residents to report any suspicious movement or characters as quickly as possible for proactive measures to be taken”.

Similarly, the state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it has deployed 1,255 operatives to provide security during the Easter celebration in the state.

The NSCDC Commandant, Mohammed Falala, disclosed this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Kano.

“We have put in place various security methods to enable residents to have the opportunity to participate in all the activities lined up for the celebrations in a peaceful atmosphere”.

“We will not tolerate any acts capable of bringing confusion before, during and after the festivities ,as any person or groups found disobeying orders would be arrested and prosecuted”.

He urged the Christian faithful to use the holy period to pray for peace, progress and stability in the country
