Millionaires Emerge in Plumbing Materials Business in Jigawa

Jigawa State Government has announced the creation of 27 millionaires in the plumbing materials business across the state.

Governor Umar Namadi disclosed this at the opening of a one week training on business management organised for the 27 prospective millionaires created by his administration.

He said, his administration would create 150 Millionaires before the end of the first tenure.

According to him, after careful assessment of the condition of water supply infrastructures in the state, a huge gap was identified in the management of thousand of Hand pumps across the state.

” To address the gaps, we recently trained and empowered 287 youth on hand pumps repairing, one person from each of our political ward, however we now initiated project on empowering 27 people to engage in the business of selling the spare parts of the hand pump and other plumbing materials at each headquarters of our 27 local government.”

Malam Umar Namadi said, each of the 27 Selected business men were given a capital of not less than 10 million naira and connected with production company for supplying the materials at reasonable price.

He said, they also directed all the 27 local government Chairmen to patronize them and also engaged our trained youth on any contract of repairing hand pumps in their area.

” Today we are proud to say we have created 27 Millionaires and we pray Almighty to bless their business and give them prosperity “

While fielding questions from newsmen, the Executive Secretary Jigawa state Directorate for Economic empowerment Dr Habibu Ubale said, the beneficiaries were selected base on merit including their integrity business track records and other crateriats laid down for the sustainability of the business..

“We have also established mechanism for monitoring the beneficiaries and evaluating their transaction for immediately advice and intervention where it is nacessery.

He added that, the project has multiple effect included Jobs creation, poverty eradication, enhancing water supply and strengthen public health among others.
