KNHA Approves Establishment Of State Technical College of Education

Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA), has approved the establishment of a technical college of education, in Gezawa local government area.

The approval was sequel to deliberations, during plenary session presided over by the speaker, Alhaji Isma’il Jibril.

Earlier, member representing Gezawa constituency Alhaji Abdullahi Yahaya, presented the motion seeking the cooperation of the lawmakers to establish the institute.

Mover of the motion , argued that the technical college of education would pave way for more educational development in various aspects.

He noted that if approved, the college may commence operations immediately, as there is a school building tagged ‘WTC Gezawa, that is partially functional, containing all the facilities and laboratories needed, to set up a technical college of education.

Member representing, Doguwa Salisu Ibrahim Muhammad supported the motion, which the house adopted and approved.

Similarly, member representing Kumbotso, who doubles as chief whip of the house, moved a motion of urgent public importance, calling on the state government to sponsor seventy four Kano indigenes, trained as pilots to acquire pilots licence, to utilize their potentials.

Supporting the motion, the Deputy Speaker Muhammad Bello Butu Butu, Aminu Sa’adu Ungoggo and Garba Yau Gwarmai explained that, after acquiring their bachelors degree, they have to undergo another course, before being certified as pilots.

After careful deliberations, the house adopted the motion, and called on the state government, to further invest in its indigenes by sponsoring them, to acquire the necessary training.

In another development, the house has approved the establishment of a Dam in Minjibiri local government area, in a motion moved by Abdul Abdulhamid Minjibir, supported by the lawmakers.
