NOA, NERC Collaborate On Rights of Electricity Consumers In Kano

National Orientation Agency (NOA), and National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), would collaborate, to educate and enlighten consumers of electricity, on their rights in Kano state.

Kano State Director of NOA, Alhaji Salisu Waziri-Kutama, made the disclosure while briefing Newsmen in Kano.

He stressed that, the two agencies have lined up activities, to enlighten the public, especially electricity consumers on their rights to power as enshrined by law.

The NOA state director pointed out that, there are certain rights allotted to power consumers, which most of them are unaware, but have resolved to organise a sensitisation programme to awaken their consciousness.

Alhaji Salisu however stressed that, the agency had earlier collaborated with the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in the state on dangers of drug abuse, especially among youths.

He maintained that, preparations were in top gear, to partner with the police command in Kano State, on an enlightenment campaign against phone snatching and other criminal activities .

The NOA director, said the agency has inaugurated “Integrity Clubs’ in fifty public and private secondary schools, with a view to educating students on good leadership, discipline, and integrity.

Alhaji Salisu hinted that, the agency will also educate youths, on how best to conduct themselves, in preparation to assume a future leadership status.
