Abdullahi Jalaludeen Of Radio Nigeria Emerges Vice Chairman Kano Correspondents Chapel

Kano State the Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Baba Dantiye has advised journalists, to desist from fake news reporting, hate speech, and reportage that could cause damage to the society.

Dantiye made the call, during the inaguration of Kano correspondents chapel executives.

According to him, journalists have a vital role to play on building public trust, and reinforcing the confidence of the people, in what they could offer as the bedrock of the society.

The commissioner charged the new officials, to always abide by the union’s Constitution, and not to be involved in partisan politics.

Inaugurating the executives, the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of journalists NUJ, Kano Council, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, urged them to justify the essence of their election.

He advised the inagurated executives ,to ensure strict adherence to the NUJ Constitution, in the conduct of their activities, while ensuring peaceful coexistence in the running of day-to-day activities of journalists, in the chapel.

Radio Nigeria reports that, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Garko, NAN Kano Bureau chief, Radio Nigeria’s chief correspondent Alhaji Abdullahi Jalaludeen, and Bashir Bello from vanguard newspapers ,were elected unopposed as chairman, vice-chairman and assistant secretary.

In an acceptance speech, Aminu Garko commended members of the chapel, for giving him opportunity and mandate to serve, adding that in doing so, it would give him a chance to address some challenges of members.

He stated that, under his leadership, journalism would be practiced with dignity, integrity, and utmost respect, guiding activities of the profession.
