Kaduna State government says the National Youth Service Corps remains a veritable platform that has fostered national unity and provided young graduates with leadership skills for national development.

Governor Uba Sani made this known at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Batch B pre-orientation workshop held in Kaduna.

The governor who was represented by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Abdulhaliru Musa Soba remarked that the significance of the scheme cannot be overemphasized as it has helped to nurture responsible citizens who are committed to the progress of the country.

He commended the scheme for the workshop organized to restructure operations of the scheme , to conform with modern trends especially the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme.

Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed said key officials and partner agencies attended the workshop to review and map out strategies for improved performance of the scheme.

He added that the forum would come up with resolutions meant to aid policy guidelines for the success of the exercise.

The theme of the workshop is ‘Repositioning the NYSC Orientation Course in the Post – Golden Jubilee Era for Effective National Service’.
