The wife of the Taraba State Governor and First Lady of the State, Mrs. Agyin Agbu Kefas has urged the Muslim Pilgrims from the state who went to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj to pray for peace, harmony, and development of the state.

Mrs. Kefas made the plea on Friday in an exclusive conversation with our Correspondent in Jalingo, the capital city.

She said the need for prayers from the pilgrims cannot be over-emphasized, considering the importance of the Hajj to the Muslim faith which is one of the five (5) pillars of Islamic religion.

The wife of the governor also appealed to them to be good Ambassadors of Taraba State and Nigeria at large while in Saudi Arabia to avoid any act that could tarnish the image of both the state and the nation.

The First Lady further expressed optimism that the pilgrims would not deviate from the essence of their travel to Saudi Arabia and prayed to God to grant them the strength to perform an accepted Hajj.

She however, appealed to the entire people of the state to continue living in peace with one another to enable the present administration of Dr. Agbu Kefas to execute its developmental projects designed for the state.

It was gathered that Mrs. Agyin Agbu Kefas had sponsored some Muslim faithful to perform the 2023 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, a gesture that was commended by thousands of Tarabans.

Recalled that on Friday 9th June 2023, during the farewell address for the 2023 Hajj by Governor Agbu Kefas held at the Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Jalingo, the governor requested the intended pilgrims to pray for peace, Unity, and progress of the State, as well as the success of his administration.

However, recalled that the Executive Secretary of the Board, Ahmed Umar Chiroma at the same event commended the governor for solving the problems of the Board within a week of assuming office and pledged not to disappoint him.

Meanwhile, the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Alkali who led the pilgrims and other officials, is the State 2023 Amirul Hajj.
