Borno: INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Zulum, 28 Members Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has presented Certificate of Return to Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum and twenty eight members of the state Assembly-elect. 

At a Ceremony in Maiduguri, National Commissioner in-charge of Bauchi, Borno and Yobe states at the Commission Major General Modibbo Alkali (rtd) expressed INEC resolve to leverage on technology to improve the Nation’s electoral process.

“I hereby as the supervising National Commissioner in-charge of Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States present to you, His Excellency Certificate of Return today having duly elected and returned by the good people of Borno state who have entrusted you with the burden of responsibilities of good governance and provision of dividends of democracy “General Alkali stated.

Resident Electoral Commissioner Borno state Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim said the presentation was in line with the Electoral Act 2022 which mandate the Commission to issue a Certificate of Return to every candidate who has been returned elected.

Responding, Governor Babagana Zulum reiterated his commitment to work for the benefit of people of the state in the next four years. 

He noted that the focus of his administration would be on service delivery in all critical sectors of development. 

“Within the next four years, we would do everything possible to ensure that we don’t have internally displaced persons, am also committed to repatriate indigenes of Borno state that are living in the Republic of Chad, Cameroon and Niger. 

Our Correspondent reports that six of twenty members-elect are coming to the House of Assembly for the first time.
