Ahead of the forthcoming Ramadan,a Non Governmental Organization “Zaytun Humanitarian Foundation” has distributed clothing materials and food items to five hundred orphans, widows and less privilege in Kano.

While flagging off the distribution in Kano, the Project Coordinator, Muhammad Sani Abubakar, said the gesture was meant to alleviate the sufferings of the poor during Ramadan.

According to him, the beneficiaries were selected from different parts of the state, to put smiles on their faces during the moment of hard economic realities.

The items distributed include rice, maize and clothing materials for both children, men and women.

“The gesture is a motive to teach other Muslims to give more charity to the poor in this Holy month of Ramadan”.

Muhammad noted that, the foundation was established in 2014 to assist the needy especially the orphans and less privileged, as well as engaging women and youths in entrepreneurship skills, to empower them and make them self-reliant

The Project Coordinator called on wealthy individuals to support such gesture in helping the less privileged in the society, not only in the month of Ramadan.

“Providing food for the needy is one of the teachings of our noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon) that should be emulated”

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, an orphan Yusuf Bello and Malam Muhammad Umar commended the foundation for the gesture.
