Governor AbdulRazq Re-elected For Second Term In Kwara

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazq of Kwara state has been declared winner and re-elected for second term under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the just concluded Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the state.

Announcing the results of the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission-INEC, collation officer in Kwara state, the Vice Chancellor University of Agricuture Makurdi, Professor Issac Itodo said AbdulRahman AbdulRazq polled two hundred and seventy three thousand, four hundred and twenty four to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Shuaibu Usman Abdullahi who scored One hundred and fifty five thousand four hundred and ninety votes.

He said the Social Democratic Party Candidate Akeem Lawal scored eighteen thousand nine hundred and twenty two votes.

Professor Itodo said Governor AbdulRazq having satisfied the requirements of the law is declared winner of the election and reelected.

In his remark, the chairman of All Progressives Congress-APC in Kwara state, Prince Sunday Fagbemi expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the election.

He said the victory would give the party the opportunity to provide more dividend of democracy to the residents of the state.

In his own comment, the representative of the Peoples Democratic Party, Otunba Anu Ibiwoye said the party will go and look at the results of the election.

He said if the party notice any lapses they will challenge the results, but if it is otherwise they will accept it.

Otunba Ibiwoye urged the party members to remain calm and maintained the peace in the state.

Other results of the election as announced by Professor Issac Itodo include, AA 387, AAC 160, ADC 982, ADP 1,354, APM 688, APP 302, LP 1647, NNPP 4398, and PRP 301.

Others are SDP 18,922, YPP 2036, ZLP 169, and NRM 237.
