Voting has already commenced in most of the polling units in Adamawa state at around 8.30am.

The accreditation of eligible voters and voting commenced simultaneously without any delay as experienced during the previous election in the state.

There is low turnout of voters in the ongoing Gubernatorial and state assembly elections across the state.

Radio Nigeria went round to many polling units and observed that, the turn out of voters is very low as compared with the previous elections in the state.

The electoral officials and materials arrived most of the polling units on time.

The atmosphere is so condusive for voters to exercise their constitutional rights, as security personnel were deployed at strategic places and location in order to ensure peaceful conduct of the elections.

The Gubernatorial candidate of the All progressive Congress APC, Sen Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has already casted her votes at around 8.45am, and expressed optimism of victory.

She also commended INEC and other critical stakeholders for organizing a peaceful election.

In a similar development, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri also casted his own votes at Kirchinga ward, Madagali local government area of the state but the former Vice president Atiku Abubakar is yet to cast his votes.
