Commissioner of Police on election duty in Kaduna State CP Sunday Babaji has announced the deployment of over Sixteen Thousand (16,000) Police Personnel to secure all Polling Units and Collation Centers across Kaduna State with a Rapid Response Team situated in all the Local Government Areas to promptly respond to distress calls.

This is contained in a statement signed on behalf of the Commissioner by the State Police Public Relations Officer Mohammed Jalige in preparation for the successful conduct the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

The statement also announced strict enforcement of restriction of human and vehicular movements into and within Kaduna State in compliance with the directives of the Inspector General of Police for the smooth conduct of the Elections.

It says the restriction takes effect from midnight of Saturday to Six O’clock in the evening of same day.

According to the statement, the restriction covers all the entry points into the State and the Twenty Three Local Government Areas with a warning against large gatherings, campaign or political rallies under whatever guise.

The statement urged all citizens to comply with the order, while calling on all eligible voters to go out and exercise their franchise without fear of intimidation from any quarter.

It states that while the election is ongoing the public should be security conscious of their environment and to report suspicious activities or persons to the nearest security formation or via the Kaduna Police Command designated emergency mobile phone numbers 08075391105 and 07039675856 for prompt intervention.

The Commissioner therefore solicits for understanding from the public against any inconvenience the restriction might cause.
