Zamfara state police command has urged political parties contesting for governorship and state assembly elections on Saturday to ensure peace before, during and after the elections.

The Commissioner of Police in charge of the state CP Kolo Yusuf made the appeal during the peace accord agreement reached at the Command’s headquarters, Gusau.

The Peace Accord is between the security agents In the state, Youths leaders of the parties and their chairmen in order to have peaceful, credible and acceptable elections.

The parties are APC, ADC, AAC, ADP and NNPP with the presence of Civil Defence, NDLEA, Immigration, Correctional Service among others.

Speaking earlier, the IPAC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Bashir Ibrahim assured to sensitize youths on violence free before, during and after the 2023 general elections.

Bashir Ibrahim also called on security agencies in the state especially the police to provide telephone lines for communicating if the need arises

Similarly, the Publicity Secretary of APC, Malam Yusuf Idris assured to give maximum support to Inec, security agencies and other stakeholders for success of the exercise.

However the main opposition party in the state, PDP did not attend the peace accord and there was no representation also
