The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Faruk Yahaya has approved the redeployment of Brigadier general S Ahmed to 1 brigade Nigerian Army Gusau as commander of the brigade and sector 1 Joint Task Force, JTF, Northwest, Operation Hadarin Daji OPHD.

This was revealed by the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Officer the brigade, Captain Yahaya Arama Ibrahim in a press release made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau.

Captain Ibrahim said, the Commander Brigadier General S Ahmed has assumed command of the Brigade and Operational activities of Sector 1 JTF NW OPHD on 11 March 2023.

He explained during a farewell address to troops at the Headquarters 1 Brigade, the outgoing Commander Brig Gen CA Baushe commended the Officers and Soldiers of the Brigade for their conduct, professionalism, discipline and support accorded to him during his tour of duty.

General Baushi implored the troops to continue to sustain the offensive actions against the criminals still hibernating in the Brigade Areas of Operations which covers Zamfara and Kebbi States.

He further implored the Officers and men of the Brigade to accord the same support to the new Commander and promised to always give his support whenever the need arises.

On his part, the new Commander, Brig Gen S Ahmed, charged the troops to continue exhibiting professionalism and discipline in order not to lower the standard set by his predecessor.

Gen Ahmed therefore urged the troops to brace up and be prepared for the forthcoming Gubernatorial election in Zamfara and Kebbi states and implored the troops to conduct themselves professionally in the discharge of their responsibilities.
