Alhassan Ado Doguwa’s Case : Court Admits Accused To N500m Bail

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano on Monday, admitted the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, to N500 million bail in a case of alleged muder.

Ado-Doguwa (APC-Doguwa/Tudun Wada, Kano) is standing trial on a six-count charge of conspiracy, culpable homicide, causing grievous hurt, arson, inciting public disturbance and unlawful possession of firearms.

Ado-Doguwa in a motion ex-parte through his lawyer, Mr Nureini Jimoh SAN, is seeking for the relief of interim injunction granting an unconditional bail pending hearing and determination of the substantive motion on notice.

Justice Muhammad Nasir-Yunus, admitted the applicant to bail in the sum of N500 million and two reliable sureties.

He said on of the surety must be a first class traditional ruler, while the second surety must be a state or federal Permanent Secretary.

“The applicant must submit his International Passport to the court registry and should not visit his constituency until after the March 11 Governorship Election” Nasir-Yunus said.

He adjourned the matter until March 20, for hearing.

Radio Nigeria recalled that Ado-Doguwa, was arraigned before a Magistrate Court on an alleged case of murder on March 1.
