Thousands Of PVCs Found In Bush

Barely three days to the presidential and National Assembly elections, thousands of Uncollected Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs have been discovered in a bush by a hunter in Nnewi, Anambra state.

The PVCs were parked in a bag concealed in big rubber bucket and dumped in the bush at Akammili Umudim, Nnewi North local government area.

The hunter who discovered the cards took them to a private Radio station, Authority FM in Nnewi and said he went hunting when he discovered  the bucket containing the Permanent Voters cards In the bush.

Reacting to the issue, the member representing Nnewi North constituency in the Anambra state House of Assembly, Mr Smart Okafor described the development as worrisome and shocking.

Mr Okafor said the situation called for questions on how such quantity of PVCs got into the bush when it was clear that INEC was responsible for the distribution of the items.

When contacted in a telephone, the Resident Electoral Commissioner INEC , Anambra state , Dr Queen  Elizabeth Agwu declined comment saying she would be having a press briefing  in Awka where journalists would be allowed to ask their questions .

In an interview, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said though the command was yet to receive any official report about the viral video, the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng had ordered investigation into the matter to uncover the source of the Permanent Voter Cards.

The PVCs which were said to have names of electorate within Nnewi had been moved to Obi Umudim Palace for people to go for identification and collection.
