Kano State : 8 Killed, 72 Rescued In January Disasters – Fire Service

Kano State Fire Service says eight people lost their lives due to different disasters in the month of January, 2023.

The Public Relations Officer Kano State Fire Service, PFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi made the disclosure in Kano.

According to him, the agency succeeded in rescuing seventy two people during the month under review.

He highlighted that, estimated properties destroyed by the fire disaster stood at # 52,600,000.00k, while over two hundred million naira worth of goods, were saved within the period.

The public relations officer explained that the service received 90 fire calls, 46 rescue calls and 14 false alarms across the 27 fire stations in the state, within the first month of 2023.

Saminu maintained that, the agency had also succeeded in bringing down a young man from Abubakar Rimi Television antenna, last week.

He stressed that, the 27 year old man Saifullahi Yahaya Abubakar tried to commit suicide, by climbing the antenna, over an unaccounted debit to his bank account, claiming that, the money belonging to someone disappeared over night.

The public relations officer charged the public to maintain safety at all times, and desist from indiscriminate use of fire and electric appliances
