
National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA has established a command in the Kakuri Area of Kaduna South Local Government Area to curtail proliferation of drug Abuse in the entire Local Government Area.
The Newly posted Area Commander to the Local Government Mallam Ahmed Abdulhadi Ibrahim stated this at an election sensitization campaign organized by Kakuri Development Association in Kaduna.
Mallam Ahmed Ibrahim said the command had identified black spots and will comb the areas to apprehend perpetrators and ensure no drugs were abused before, during and after the elections for a peaceful and non violent electioneering process
According to him Drug Abuse has been identified as a major trigger of election violence and the move by the NDLEA was to also contribute in the fight for a non violent electioneering processes to successful transition of government.
He commended organizers of the event for their foresight in organizing the sensitization campaign and promised continued support of the agency towards getting rid of bad element in the society.

Earlier, Chairman of the Kakuri Community Development Association Mallam Yusuf Garba called on Voters to hold leaders accountable for promises they made during campaigns.
Mallam Yusuf Garba said the Association had been carrying out sensitization and encouragement program on developmental issues especially on the upcoming elections in the country.
He explained that the association had been able to secure scholarship to students and also sponsor a number of youths to acquire skills.
