KDSG Reiterates Commitment to Support Women’s Empowerment

Kaduna State Government says it will not relent in supporting women to achieve their goals .

Special adviser to Governor Nasir el-Rufai on Community Relations, Mrs. Stella Amako made this known during a programme to sensitise Women on self reliance and sufficiency in Kaduna

Representing the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State Hajia Hadiza Balarabe , Mrs. Stella Amako said Kaduna State Government had empowered over six million women under the women empowerment fund -KADSWEF to support small scale traders with capital to grow their businesses for the improvement of quality of live in their families and society at Large.

She noted that women empowerment and inclusion was paramount to the government and commended the input and efforts of women holding appointive positions in Kaduna State Government , advising women generally to be confident in themselves , while calling on private organisations to close the gap as government alone cannot do it all.

Chief executive Officer-CEO and founder “The Real She Power Conference ” Mrs Rachel Obi Yari said the conference intends to sensitise Women on the importance of self reliance and worth as well as harness their inherent potentials for their growth and development and that of of the country .

Mrs Obi Yari noted that it was High time women sought the needed knowledge and education to equip themselves for Nation building and not the stereotypical roles they are popularly known for .

Certificates were Issued to all participants of the Conference

She called on women to come out in their numbers to vote in credible leaders who will ensure equity and fairness, stressing that women participation in the voting process will determine the future of their children and the country .

Also speaking, Kaduna State Chairperson , International Federation of Women Lawyer’s -FIDA , Aisha Abdu Muhammed called on women to try and be aware of their rights and seek Legal help when necessary, assuring them that FIDA is always ready to render assistance.

The programme, themed ” The Real She Power – I am Important ” had various women groups , Government officials , CSOs and women from all spheres of life in attendance.
