Adamawa State Police Command in efforts to deliver the mandate of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba, says its operatives carried out tactical and intelligence-driven patrols, raiding of criminals’ hideouts, rescue, stop and search operations, community policing, and engagement of stakeholders among others.


The State Police Commissioner CP Sikiru Akande, who stated at the command headquarter in Yola., said the operations carried out from January to date, had yielded positive results.

According to him, a total number of 208 suspects including a 65 years old Hammadu Ibrahim were apprehended in connection to kidnapping, Armed robbery, cattle rustling, culpable homicide, and other violent crimes.


He said, out of the 208 arrested, 108 were charged to court for prosecution, while 7 AK 47 rifles, 2. locally made pistols, 218 live ammunitions, Motor vehicles, Tricycle, Motorcycles, Military camouflage uniforms, GSM handsets, electronic sets, drugs, and Cash were among the exhibits recovered during the operations.


The CP assured the public that, the suspects would be diligently prosecuted after the completion of the investigation and also appreciated the government and people of Adamawa state for their continuous support and cooperation.
