Zaria Metropolitan Authority, has expended over one point four billion naira for the construction of roads in Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Governments Councils of Kaduna State.
The Administrator of the Authority, Haj. Balaraba Aliyu Inuwa, stated this while addressing newsmen shortly after a tour of the project sites in Zaria and Sabon Gari local governments.
Haj. Balaraba Aliyu Inuwa, explained that out of the road projects awards by the authority in the two benefiting local governments three have been completed while others were at various stage of completion.
She maintained that the Authority carried out installation of street light, and initiated good transportation system, street names and Houses among others.
Balaraba Inuwa, also confirmed that Giwa and Soba were among the four local governments expected to benefit from activities of the authority especially in the areas of infrastructural development.
The Sole Administrator, said the authority was partnering KADVIS to form a security team that would be empowered with monthly allowances and necessary equipment to enable them perform well.
According to her, a task force will be inaugurated to take charge in ensuring effective enforcement of policies initiated by the authority.
Hajiya Balaraba, appealed to the benefiting communities to appreciate the gesture by supporting and cooperating with the Authority to achieve it’s goals.
