KNHA Adopts Report On 2023 Proposed Budget

Kano state House of Assembly (KNHA) has adopted a report in respect of Kano state appropriation bill 2023.

The adoption was sequel to a report presentation by chairman house standing committee on appropriation, Alhaji Abba Ibrahim Garko during today’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari.

Alhaji Abba Ibrahim explained that, Kano state House of Assembly had injected over one billion naira projects, collated from inputs received during a public hearing on the 2023 proposed budget.

He stressed that, the 2023 proposal tagged budget of consolidation and prosperity II, presented to the House on 4th November 2022 by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, prioritized education and health by allocating the largest share of the total budget to the relevant sectors.

After careful deliberations by members representing Kiru, Takai, Doguwa, Kabo, T/wada and Kunchi constituency, the House adopted the report and committed the report, to the House standing committee on appropriation, for further legislative action.

Similarly, the House had adopted the 1st reading of five bills by the clerk of KNHA, Alhaji Garba Bako Gezawa.

The bills include, Kano state and local government revenue administration, codification and consolidation amendment law 2022, Kano state emirate council law ,Kano state pension and gratuity law, Kano state House of Assembly service commission law and Kano state traffic law 1983.

After adopting the 1st reading, the bills were committed to the House for subsequent deliberations and scrutiny.

The House adjourned for a special sitting on Thursday 29th December 2022 in a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari.
