Kano Speaker, Other Principal Officers Receive PASAN Award

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Kano chapter has awarded Kano speaker, and other members of the Kano state House of Assembly.

In a short ceremony, held at the Assembly complex in Kano on Tuesday, the Speaker, Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, and all principal officers received a merit award in recognition of their commitment and dedication.

Speaking during the event, Kano state chairman of PASAN, Comrade Bashir Yahaya explained that, the award was in recognition of the legislators selfless service to humanity.

He highlighted that, Kano state House of Assembly under the leadership of Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari have enacted laws which had positively impacted on the life of parliamentary staff.

The PASAN Chairman noted that, the passage of the Kano state House of assembly Commission law, served as a catalyst to the elevation of some staff including the clerk, deputy clerk among others.

He commended the efforts of the legislators, in pushing for a new salary scale for the parliamentary staff, which would go a long way in uplifting their standards of living.

“Which is a clear indication of the speaker’s hard work which affected PASAN members positively”.

In his remarks, speaker Kano state House of Assembly, Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, described the parliamentary staff association as engine room of the Assembly.

He stressed that, the legislators and parliamentary staff, have an existing cordial working relationship from time immemorial.

Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari charged PASAN to give the incoming 10th assembly the necessary assistance and cooperation for the development of the state.

He commended the Parliamentary Staff Association (PASAN,) for the award on behalf of all the members of the 9th assembly KNHA, and promised to rededicate themselves to their duties accordingly.

“Over the years you have respected the 9th assembly and accorded the needed respect”.

Those who received awards include the speaker and his deputy, majority leader, deputy majority leader, minority leader and his deputy, chief whip, all principal officers and member representing Gwale constituency, Alhaji Yusuf Babangida for his dedication in providing welfare packages to PASAN members, during Ramadan each year.

While members representing constituencies in the state assembly, received a certificate of appreciation from the PASAN chairman.
