The APC Gubernatorial Candidate of Kaduna State Senator Uba Sani has promised to appoint Special Advisers on Labour Matters if elected as governor of Kaduna State.

He gave the assurance while speaking at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kaduna Council Political Committee Interactive Meeting at the NLC Secretariat.

“I have been in labour struggles for over 30 years, I am part of you. I would have to appoint an adviser on labour if elected. I won’t appoint, I would come to you to nominate,” he said.

Senator Uba Sani said that as a human rights activist, he has paid his dues in ensuring democracy comes to stay in Nigeria

Some of us were detained under Decree 2, which Abacha brought on board, detention without trial over our demand for democracy,” he said.

According to him, all hands must be on deck to ensure Nigeria’s democracy is sustained.

We need to work very hard to prevent anti-democratic forces. Some of those we are contesting with today, were military allies when we were being detained,” Uba Sani emphasized.

When I was informed about this meeting I was very happy because I am coming home. I am one of the leading human rights activist in Northern Nigeria.

“I am one of those you can feel comfortable with. I was released from detention by General Abdulsalami Abubakar. I want to assure you that I will continue with that struggle.

Though we have achieved democracy, we still have much to achieve,” the APC Gubernatorial Candidate explained.
