Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has presented the 2023 appropriation bill before the State House of Assembly for the sum of N188,872,227,000.00.
Presenting the proposal, Governor Matawalle explained that the budget was designed to enable the administration to mobilise resources to fully contain the ravaging insecurity bedevilling the state.
Matawalle said the proposal was anchored on multiple grant resources to make it coherent, and consistent with medium and long-term strategic plans, adding that the formulation of the Budget had come with challenges of the high demand for over N300 billion from Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
According to him, the estimate is made up of N102,564,207,000.00 and N86,308,020,000.00 as recurrent and capital expenditures respectively.
The governor who thanked the legislative arm for the support, cooperation and understanding given to his administration, also appreciated the people for their goodwill, especially in praying for the return of peace in the state.
Receiving the propose budget, the Speaker Zamfara State Assembly Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya assured to study the bill carefully and speedy passage of it for assenting into law.
