The Chairman house standing committee on health, Alhaji Nuhu Abdullahi Acika said the law was amended to upgrade the agency according to global standards.

In another development, KNHA has called on contractors handling the construction of Kano to Zaria road, to provide an alternative route for motorists, as well as expedite action on the speedy completion of the project, to alleviate suffering experienced by motorists plying the road.

This was sequel to a motion of urgent public importance ,sponsored by members representing Rano, Kira/Garun Malm Constituency, Alhaji Nurudeen Alhassan Rano and Alhaji Musa Hayatu Musa Dorawar Sallau, supported by the lawmakers.

Movers of the motion argued that, the road construction has led to traffic hold up along Kura-Tamburawa and Karfi axis, where motorists and travellers were mostly stranded for hours due to the closure of some parts of the road under construction.

The house adjourned its sitting to the next day.
