The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, CP Kolo Yusuf has moved to implement the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba to provide adequate security for schools across the country.
This was revealed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Shehu Mohammed in a press release made available to journalists in Gusau the state Capital.
“The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command CP Kolo Yusuf psc, in compliance with the directives today led the Police Tactical Team to Federal University, Gusau, Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) and Police Secondary School Gusau for confidence building patrol.” PPRO said
He explained that, in the course of the visit, the Commissioner of Police met with the schools management and went round some of the strategic locations in their respective schools which the CP assessed instantly for security mapping, so as to safeguard lives and property in the schools.
During the visit, CP Kolo also made some paramount observations and advised the schools Management appropriately.
He further assured the Command’s readiness and commitment to the security and safety of all the schools domiciled in the State and called on the staff and students to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement to the Police or other security agencies for prompt response.
The Management of the three institutions commended the Commissioner of Police for his timely concern to the security of their schools, and promised to be on the same page with the Police and other security agencies in ensuring the safety of their schools.
