National Population Commission, NPC, says it requires about  N532.7billion to conduct national census in April next year.

The Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwarra who stated this at the budget Presentation with the Senate Committee on National Population and Identity Management, explained that the money, is to facilitate a digital census.

According to him, NPC is ready to re- write the history of census in Nigeria by making it an accurate, credible, reliable and acceptable by all Nigerians.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Population and Identity Management, Sahabi Ya’u representing Zamfara North told the NPC boss to furnish the committee with details of projects executed with the 2022 appropriation and those proposed for the 2023 fiscal year.

Meanwhile, the Request by the NPC chairman to decorate the Chairman and the committee members as 2023 Census Ambassadors  was however turned down.
