Niger Republic: 6,000 Nigeriens To Be Captured In Niger State

A total of six thousand Nigeriens resident in Niger state are expected to be captured in the ongoing registration and issuance of permanent voters card by the Niger Republic.

This is to enable them elect credible leaders of their choice from outside the country during the forthcoming general elections in that country.

Chairman people living in Niger state from Niger Republic, Malam Danladi Ali who stated this at the registration centre in Minna however expressed reservations that they may not be captured before the end of the exercise.

Malam Danladi Ali however appealed to Niger Republic to as a matter of urgency extend the date slated for the exercise to achieve maximum results.

According to him, this might helped to give Nigeriens resident in Niger state and other parts of Nigeria ample opportunity to exercise their franchise.

Also speaking, Hajiya Shamsiyya Suleiman Mairago said though she has been registered but there is the need for more time to enable eligible voters register and partake actively in the electoral process of Niger Republic from in and outside the country.

Operator in charge of the registration exercise, Malam Abdu Amadu Ibrahim explained that the registration which started on Tuesday is to be completed this Saturday.

Malam Abdu Amadu Ibrahim added that the registration has been going own smoothly stressing that those to be registered or captured must present their birth certificate from Niger Republic or a certificate that allows them to stay in Nigeria legally.
