Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe has presented new staff of office to the Emir of Saminaka, Alhaji Musa Muhammad Sani.
Dr Hadiza Balarabe while presenting the staff of office to the Emir in Saminaka explained that, Saminaka Emirate had been elevated to second-class status.
She congratulated the Emir on his elevation and wished him a long reign of peaceful and purposeful service to the people of Saminaka emirate.
According to her, it was important to acknowledge and commend the people of Saminaka for upholding peace and harmony.
“Saminaka is on the boundary that our state shares with Kano, Plateau and Bauchi states. It is noteworthy that it is not embroiled in disputes over farmlands that tend to create potential for conflict in boundary communities”
Dr Balarabe stressed the need for the Emir to see his elevation as a challenge and urged him to redouble his efforts and commitment in ensuring peace and progress in Saminaka Emirate.
The Deputy governor also called on the people of the Saminaka to see the upgrade of their Emirate as an opportunity to foster peace and promote its progress.
She pointed out that, traditional institutions are helping government agencies with intelligence at the local level particularly in the area of record keeping and data gathering in communities on births, deaths and routine immunization of children against vaccine preventable diseases.
According to her, Kaduna State Government is addressing the welfare and improving working conditions of the traditional institution in the state, within its constraints.
“We have purchased and distributed official vehicles to all the 32 graded emirates and chiefdoms in the state. We have also purchased and are currently distributing another set of official vehicles to the 88 district heads in the State. Many palaces are also being renovated to improve the living conditions of the royal fathers”.
The Emir of Saminaka, His Highness Alhaji Musa Muhammad Sani also conferred the traditional title of Jaruma Saminaka (Heroine of Saminaka) on Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
Similarly, the Deputy Governor also presented staff of iffice to the Chief of Kudaru, His Highness Yakubu Iliya Sauri, Bugwan Kudaru II at Yarkasuwa, Lere Local Government.
