Zamfara State Government has commenced distribution of N10,000 to about 5000 beneficiaries across the 147 wards of the state.
Flagging off the distribution in Shinkafi and Kaura Namoda Local area of Zamfara North, the Subcommittee’s chairman of the Zone, Ibrahim Danmalikin Gidan Giga said, the gesture was part of the efforts of the state Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle to ensure welfare of the populace and deliver dividend of democracy to the doorstep of people at grassroot.
According to him, 30 persons each of the 147 wards would benefit from the gesture, saying the present administration of governor Bello Matawalle is determined to improve living standard of everyone in the state through programmes and policies designed to move the state to a greater Heights.
In their separate remarks, sole administrators of Kaura Namoda and Shinkafi local government areas, Nasiru Altine Yakamata and Abdurrahman Bala respectively, applauded the foresight of Governor Matawalle for supporting needy with the N10,000 each beside other numerous packages to the people of the state.
They also called on the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria after receiving the grant, thanked the state governor for the gesture, noting that, they would make good use of the money.
