A 12 year old boy, Sadiq Isah lost his life due to drowning at Jingabawa village, Minjibir local government area.
Narrating the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service PFS Saminu Abdullahi noted that, the agency’s control room received a distress call at 10:25 am.
He highlighted that on arrival, the rescue team suceeded in retrieving the boy unconscious who accidentally fell into a pond during local swimming.
The public relations officer said the body has been handed over to village head of Jingibawa Alhaji Magaji Abdullahi after being confirmed dead by health officials.
Similarly, a 20 year old man had also lost his life, in an open water at Ruwan Mubi Kofar Nasarawa, Kano municipal local government area.
PFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi pointed out that, one Ibrahim Nura reported a drowning incident to the Kano state fire service on Thursday at 4:19 pm.
He explained that, a rescue team was quickly mobilized where they evacuated and conveyed the body to Muhammad Abdullahi Wase specialist hospital.
The public relations officer maintained that, investigation has commenced to unravel the identity of the man and the mystery behind the unfortunate incident.
He called on the public to contact Kano state fire service, for any useful information about the unknown victim
