National Population Commission NPC Zamfara State Office has concluded arrangements for the smooth conduct of a credible and acceptable 2023 population and housing census.

The Federal Commissioner in Zamfara State Alhaji Muhammad Muttaka Rini disclosed this in Gusau while commenting on the preparations made by the commission for the 2023 housing census.

Alhaji Muhammad Murtala Rini said the commission had various meetings with relevant stakeholders with a view to having the first-ever digital census in Nigeria.

He said the aim of the exercise was to create public awareness of the conduct of the 2023 Census including its imperative, methodology, and timeliness as well as promote robust and informed state conversation on the processes and procedures for the 2023 census.

The Federal Commissioner also solicited the cooperation and support of key stakeholders for the successful conduct of the exercise and urged citizens to submit themselves for enumeration purposes during the exercise.

Alhaji Muttaqa Rini who is also the Makamam Zamfara assured that the results of the census taking are acceptable and credible as they engaged many stakeholders in the past including the UN, Presidency, State Governors, National Assembly, MDAs, Traditional among others in the development of the census instruments.

According to him, the 2023 population census will be fully digital adding that the commission has deployed technology to conduct the exercise and enhance data quality.
