A Gender Activist Hajiya Hawwa Abdullahi Gambo has called on political Parties in Nigeria to give equal opportunities for Women and Youth to occupy political positions for Nigeria to achieve desired development.

She made the call while speaking on poverty, and security Challenges in an address to political stakeholders meeting organized by African Democratic Congress in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Hajiya Hawwa Abdullahi Gambo observed that countries that presently give women priorities to occupy very important leadership positions in governance such as Rwanda, Cuba and the United Arab Emirate are more united, experiencing overwhelming economic, social and infrastructural growth compared to several countries which refused to do so.

She lamented the security challenges bedeviling every part of the country and attributed the situation to bad governance, youth restiveness poverty and lack of opportunities for youth to be gainfully employed.

In their separate comments, some of the stakeholders Mallam Yahaya salisu and Mrs Felicia Moses who called for sincerity in addressing the nation’s security challenges also commended INEC and the National Assembly for amending the electoral act to reflect current realities.
