The solidarity protest march by Nigeria Labor Congress NLC in support of Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU witnessed massive turned out in Kaduna as workers march about 2 kilometers from the Labor Secretariat to the State Assembly Complex.

Addressing the legislators, State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Suleiman Ayuba commended ASUU for their resilience in fighting for improved standard of education and better working conditions in the Nation’s Universities.

Comrade Ayuba Suleiman explained that various initiative were taken by the NLC for Government to address the ASUU demands to no avail which forced the protest in all states of the Federation.

He therefore appealed to the Legislators to intervene by ensuring that Federal Government fulfills the Agreements with ASUU and that all their withheld salaries are paid without delay.

Responding, Speaker of the House, Mallam Yusuf Zailani represented by his Deputy Mr. Isaac Auta said the agitations by ASUU were legitimate and pledge to convey all messages to members for appropriate action.
