KDSG To Implement 65years Retirement Age For Teachers

Kaduna State government says it will key into the new policy of 65 years retirement for teachers or 40 years in Service.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Alhaji Haliru Soba stated this during the flag off the distribution of 2358 Digital Attendance Registers for all public primary schools in Kaduna.

Alhaji Soba explained that, the policy would be deliberated during the State Excutive Council meeting for final approval.

He urged the Head teachers in the state to ensure effective use of the Digital Register for records keeping of the students.

In a remark, Kaduna State Excutive Chairman, Universal Basic Education Board, said all the the tablets were procured for distribution.

Alhaji Abdullahi explained that, the digital attenndance register was a new Disbursement Link indicator under the World Bank Funded program of Better Education Service Delivery for All BESDA introduced to provide records for presence and absence of pupils in schools.

He pointed out that, the Board had trained head teachers on how to operate the tablets, stressing that, the device is very simple to operate.

According to him all actors of Basic Education at different levels can use the digital register to track pupils schools attendance to enhance decision making and planning.

The Executive Chairman noted that, 2358 devices have been procured for distribution to 2358 public primary schools of the State.

He however urged the Education secretaries, Head teachers, School Based Management Committees, Religious and Traditional Rulers to support the initiative to achieve the desire objective.

According to him, the head teschers would be responsible for the safety and whereabouts of the digital attenndance register for their schools.
