Jigawa State Government is to partner with the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria AMLSN to improve health.

The State Head of Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila disclosed this while receiving the National President of the Association Professor James Garba Damen who paid him a courtesy call at his office in Dutse.

According to him, the Jigawa state government has recorded so many progress in Health sector aimed at improving Health service delivery.

Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila said ” Health is wealth, as such, it is on this note that the present administration in Jigawa introduced numerous programmes aimed at enhancing effective, functional and qualitative Health care delivery”.

Kila further explained that,from 2015 to date one primary health centre was constructed in each political ward across the State, and also established additional specialist Hospital in  Jigawa northeast as well as north-west senatorial districts.

He noted that the state Ministry of Health, in collaboration with several development partners, recorded significant achievements in several areas of health care deliver and health interventions. 

” These areas include polio immunization, training and re-training of health personnel, reduction of child and maternal death, proper documentation of data in health facilities in the state, in addition to contact and consultation with relevant health institutions” the HOS added

Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila pointed out that, the state government was up to date on the payment of Salary and gratuity, saying no single month passed without  payment of monthly pension to pensioners.

Earlier, the National President of the Association, Professor James Garba Damen told the Head of Service that they were in the state for their 16th Annual Public Health Lecture and National Executive Council Meeting held in Dutse from the 22nd to 24th July 2022.

He commended Governor Badaru Abubukar for implementing so many health policies towards improving Health care delivery in the State.

Professor Damen appealed to the State Government to consider establishing the Directorate of medical laboratory services in the State Ministry of Health for more service efficiency in the State.
