He said the contract for the rehabilitation and total overhaul of the 74 kilometres section 2 of the Abuja- Kano highway which stretches from Kaduna to Zaria was awarded by the present administration to make it more motorable.

The Director of Highway stressed that the quality of work done so far had met all laid down requirements.

He maintained that the Federal Ministry of Works would not relent in ensuring that the quality of work on all road projects in Kaduna and beyond was sustained by contractors.

On the Zaria-
Funtua highway which is over 64 kilometers, Director of Highways, North West Wasiu Adetayo Taiwo said the contractor had been fully mobilised to deliver the project as scheduled.

He said work on the Zaria -Funtua and other road projects had progressed smoothly despite security challenges in some communities.

Meanwhile the team proceeded to inspect section three of the road which is from Zaria to Kano.
